Some people go to the sauna daily, some go weekly. some people go monthly, some go quarterly , some people go annually, and some people never. No matter how often or never you go for sauna sessions, one thing will be constant here, and that is the experience will always be different all year round. As seasons go, so does weather, scenery and the vibes. But how different are sauna sessions, during the 4 seasons of the year?
Winter
The classic contrast. Best experienced in the Nordics, where the winter times are full of white snow all over the place. Great scenery with the white and frozen trees, the winter landscapes and the frozen lakes. It is the best natural setting for contrast therapy, cold plunges in the frozen lake, or rolling in the snow. The vibes are serene, regenerative, peaceful, and cozy.
Spring
Post-dark winter vibes, the feeling of rebirth. With the sun being out, and the lakes still relatively cold, it’s best for moderate-light sessions. The feels are rejuvenation, energizing, and icing out and getting ready for the summer energy. It is good to use birch whisks to improve the aroma and exfoliation to get better skin for the hot summer!
Summer
Warmer weather, shorter sessions and more cooling breaks. Sauna sessions during the summer are for the vibes and oozy feeling. Cool down sessions are enjoyed more with a good temperature from the lake and the sun being out! With summer, everyone is free and it’s a good time to socialize and invite people to go to the sauna, enjoy some music and drinks. In contrast to the winter vibes of peace and solitude, the summer is for socializing and enjoying it with people.
Autumn
Back to work and school, the transition is not easy but you have sauna by your side. Transitioning your body and preparing yourself for when the temperatures drop. Boosting immunity from the colds and winter fevers. The vibes are cooling down, transitioning to another year of grinding and pushing through the winter and the cold. Reminiscing the fun times of the summer and enjoying its last few heats of the year.
Over the year, the vibes are different. The scenery, weather, and things we do end up in memories and stories that we share among ourselves, the people we love, and the people we experience sauna with. As every year comes and go, we build new memories and go through life as it is with sauna by our side. Experiences may vary and are subjective. How often one goes to the sauna doesn’t matter. Because at the end of the day the thing we are experiencing is not just sauna, its life.
